The first Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) was founded through the Dad Fund, in conjunction with Evo Media, Sierra Nevada College, The United States Fund; and the Northern Nevada International Centre.
YEP aimed at giving young entrepreneurs the opportunity of mentorship with businesses and tertiary institutions based in the United States of America. This was done by offering a 5-week mentorship exchange period for South African entrepreneurs to be placed with specific institutions as part of a skills development program. The first intake of YEP participants travelled to the US in February 2010. The Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) is open to:
- South African entrepreneurs between the age of 25 and 35
- All races
- Male and female
- New or current business
- Must have a valid passport
- Business industries include: Service, Events, Travel & Tourism & Education
The Dad Fund is in the process of setting up a new entrepreneurs program where young budding South African entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to learn and work in one of the emerging country markets (such as the BRICS countries)
Updated news regarding the New Entrepreneurs Program will be posted here.
