I am a 27 year old South African female, born and bred in Johannesburg. Both my parents are entrepreneurs and I have been brought up with an entrepreneurial spirit. I am the youngest and only girl of 4 children. 

Since a young age I took an interest in art and culture. In my spare time I dance, paint and occasionally sell my artwork for extra income. 

I choose fashion design as my career. The South African Fashion industry has a lot of potential and in the last few years it has taken great strides in expressing South Africa’s diversity. On the other hand the South African clothing industry has suffered and is in need to produce the same quality that international brands have.  My work experience has allowed me to gain knowledge and skills with in different areas in the fashion industry. I have also been privilege to travel locally and internationally doing what I love.

This has increased my confidence. I am self-motivated which allows me to take the necessary steps in getting the best out of situations. I completed my Bachelors of Arts with a thesis on ‘The benefits a training centre would derive from being linked to a clothing label’. 

I am currently producing sewing skills DVD. The DVD has great potential to influence the way training is done in South Africa. I would love to see my label being an empowerment initiative for previously disadvantage individuals and hopefully develop a concept, which other designers will follow.
